MONEY. MONEY.

I watched this musical for the first time today, and I am IN LOVE WITH IT!

I loveeeeeed Liza and Joel!!! This is one of those musicals where they sang through their stage as show stars, and showed their lives but didn't sing. If you know what I mean. They showed their acts on the stage. Ahh whatever, I can't explain - SORRY.

Anyways, apparently, Joel Grey is the father of Jean Grey who was Baby in Dirty Dancing!
And he was just AMAZING in this musical.

One of my favorite musicals.

Catherine : A Life in Movies

I favored one movie from each year of my life, it was hard deciding. So there may be more than one movies for one or two years of my life. I just couldn't decide! I found this idea on YAM Magazine (Yet Another Magazine).

Here we go!

1990 - Kindergarten Cop

Office Kimble (Schwarzenegger) goes undercover as a Kindergarten Teacher to find a drug dealer. Now, when I was younger, I loved Schwarzenegger in Twins and Jingle All the Way. He's just hilarious!!

1991 - HOOK

What if Peter Pan grew up??

Peter Pan is my all-time favorite Disney Character. I loved Peter Pan, to be honest - this was my first Peter Pan story before I learned the songs from the Disney movie in Choir. I loved Robin Williams and Dustin Hoffman, and Julia Roberts, and Maggie Smith.
When I was at my cousin's birthday sleepover in 4th or 5th grade, and it was my first sleepover ever. I brought two movies - Hook and Passport to Paris (Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen). Of course, the girls chose Passport to Paris. I cried and cried and was so angry because I wanted to watch Hook, and of course we watched this movie. I was such a brat. We watched Hook first then Passport to Paris where I fell asleep because it was so late at night. HEHE.

Wendy: So, your adventures are over.
Peter: Oh, no. To live...to live would be an awfully big adventure.

1992 - Newsies

I was in middle school, I saw this DVD under $5 on the shelves at Target. Every time I went there, I always looked at this DVD and read the back, (I probably did this about 10 times) and finally I got it. Boy, was I happy I got this. I was obsessed, and watched this musical over and over again for months. I fell in love with Jack Kelly and Spot Colon of Brooklyn. I loved the songs, and the dancing. I have a huge love for musicals. Never fear, Brooklyn is here!

By the way, yes, this was Christian Bale. He played Jack Kelly. This was the first time I admired him (loved him like a fangirl...) when he grew up from Empire of the Sun.

1993 - Hocus Pocus & Dazed and Confused

Hocus Pocus

From imDB.com - "After 300 years, three sister witches are resurrected in Salem Massachusetts on Halloween night, and it is up to two teenagers, a young girl, and an immortal cat to put an end to the witches reign of terror once and for all."

This was my all-time favorite movie when I was little. I owned the cassette, and would watch it over and over again in the living room. I would lie down on the carpet in front of the TV with my feet up against the bottom of the TV. I was in love with these witches and the black cat. I also loved how there was history and the present in this movie.

It was the talking cat, and the vacuum used as a flying broom that got me into this film. ;)

Dazed and Confused

In case you haven't noticed, the quote from "About Me" is from this movie.

The older you get, the more rules they will make you follow, that's when you just gotta keep livin' man. L-I-V-I-N'.

I used this quote as my senior quote when I worked on the high school paper.
I loved the 70s, I loved their clothes and their cars! I loved hippies too. I was obsessed with this film during my junior and senior years of high school.
As soon as I start this movie, it was just that moment you hear Aerosmith's "Sweet Emotion," and you see Kevin Pickford driving his Pontiac slowly in the school parking, you knew this movie was going to be good.

BREAK.
This is me.
